The Native Roots Exchange

At Nurture Natives, we believe that growing native plants is more than just gardening—it’s a way for young people to take tangible action for their communities and ecosystems. The Native Roots Exchange empowers youth to lead their own native plant giveaways, spreading biodiversity, educating their communities, and inspiring environmental action. This initiative is designed to put young leaders at the center — you plan, organize, and host the event, while Nurture Natives provides facilitation, templates, and support to make your project a success.

How it Works

  1. Connect with Local Nurseries: We’ll help you identify and establish partnerships with nurseries or community gardens to source native seedlings for your giveaway.

  2. Plan Your Event: Use our provided templates and guidance to structure your giveaway, from timing and location to outreach and educational materials.

  3. Lead Your Giveaway: Engage your community, educate participants about native species, and distribute seedlings.

  4. Share Your Impact: Document your event with photos, videos, or stories, and submit them to be featured on the Nurture Natives Global Growth Map and social media.
